Last Middle School Football Game Ever

They did it. An undefeated season. 10-0. And the final game of Nathan's middle school football career was a doozy!

The game didn't begin until about 4:40 at a park field with no lights, so we knew it would be a short game, given that the sun is all the way down by 6:00 at the latest. The boys went out there with little stretch or prep time, received the kickoff and went 4 and out. Very disappointing. So they charged in there on defense--and Nathan intercepted the first pass! Very exciting. He caught it near the ground, but it was definitely a catch.

After that, it was back and forth scoring as the shadows crept closer, covering the field. Nathan snagged another interception on defense. Offensively, he threw a couple of touchdown passes and some other nice passes as well. He also had a great block that allowed our running back to score at a crucial point in the game. Finally, with all the fans at the sidelines so we could see in the dark, we held them on their 5 yard line, took the ball down and scored to put us up by 2 touchdowns. Game over. 38-25.

It was our last middle school football game as parents of a player. Nathan did us proud, but we are so ready to move on up.

Middle school basketball starts Monday. We'll see how that goes.
